Bangladesh is a land of rains and river. So flood is a common phenomenon in oh country. It occurs almost every year.

The Recent Flood:

Recent I have experienced a flood. At the time, I was in my native village home. Then I was there to enjoy a vacation. But unfortunately, I had to face a devastating flood. The flood occurred due to ceaseless rain. The rivers and candle were full to the brim. With the increased of rain, the entire village was inundated. Within a week news came to us that cities were also flooded. The flood took severe face throughout the country. Manikganj, Munshigonj, Madaripur, Joypurhat and other districts are seriously hit by the flood.

The houses and roads went under water. The affected people took shelter in the roofs of their houses or in some public buildings. So.e people were shifted to the nearby embankment. The women and children had to suffer a lot. Relief camps were opened in the affected areas. But these were inadequate and crowded. Not only the affected people suffered. The domestic cattle and other animals suffered a lot. Some of them were washed away, some had to struggle.

Others strove for want of food. There was an acute shortage of drinking water. I found children crying for food. Women were seen weeping and sweeping their tears with their skirts. Thousands of people were seen waiting for relief goods, water-borne diseases broke out in an epidemic form. In my village, I did some voluntary work. I carried some dry food and rice with me. I distributed those among the needy people. They felt very happy.
