Short Story on The Foolish Thief

Mr. Fakrul was a retired gentleman. He lived in a mansion. He had three servants to look after him. Every night he put off his diamond ring and kept it on a bedside table before he retired to bed. One morning he found the ring missing. He suspected one of his servants. He called the servants and gave a stick to each of them. Then he said, “Look, these are magic sticks. The stick of the person who has stolen the ring will grow an inch longer.” Next morning Mr. Fakrul ordered his servants to bring their sticks. One of the sticks was found an inch shorter. The thief was caught easily. He confessed his guilt and the diamond ring was recovered.

Moral: “A guilty mind is always suspicious.”
