Essay on Unemployment Problem in Bangladesh

The proportion of unemployment problem in Bangladesh has gone beyond bounds. There are various forms and causes of the unemployment problem in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural country. Here seasonal unemployment is found among the peasantry who after their season of sowing and weeding turn workless and unemployment.
Disguised unemployment is another form of unemployment.  It is seen in many families in Bangladesh. For example, if the five active members of a family are employed in the family’s agriculture works only three members are sufferers, the extra two members, may be called the sufferers from the disguised unemployment.

Technological unemployment is another form of unemployment. For, if the mode of production is changed and new technology is employed in production, the workers under the previous mode of production turn jobless.

The rapid growth of population is the main cause of unemployment problem of Bangladesh. The rate of population problem increase at present is 24 per thousand which is quite alarming.
Unemployment is a great social evil. It has given rise to various social crimes. Our unemployed youth are in total frustration. They have grown cynical attitude and fined values hold but very little attraction to them. Their pent-up frustration gets outlets through the destructive politics of student, campus violence, widespread drug addiction, seduction, looting, arsons, rapes, murders, sabotages, and faithlessness in religion, generation clash, hooliganism and various other social crimes. In addition, it creates a gap in kinship ties and blood relationship.

In order to solve this problem, the government must take adequate and proper steps. Industrialization implies the development of both large-scale and cottage industries. Agriculture will be mechanized more and more. We should pay attention to vocational and technical education.  In addition, steps should be taken to increase our national income to the maximum and distribute it equitably. But all attempts will be fruitless if the population is not kept within reasonable limit.
Unemployment problem means the state of being without any work both an educated and uneducated person for earning one's livelihood. This problem has become a great concern all over the world. But nowhere in the world is this problem as acute as in Bangladesh. Thousands of people in our country are without any job. At present, the toughest task for any young man is to manage a job.

There are many problems behind unemployment problem.
Our country is overpopulated. The rapid growth of population is the main reason of unemployment problem.

Our country is industrially very much lagging behind. In fact, the development in this field is very slow.  Cottage industries have almost decayed. The few mills, factories and industries that we have can only absorb a limited number of people. Most of the life our country depend on agriculture. But our cultivable land is very limited.

Our present system of education instead of giving any solution creates educated unemployed Youngman. In our educational system, there is no much scope of given vocational training and technical education to a student. So after taking the highest degree even from the highest seat of learning; they remain unemployed.

Our educated young men generally think it to be disgraceful to do any manual work. They prefer service to any kind of business.

More Composition: Population Problem in Bangladesh

In order to eradicate this problem, we have to mobilize all our energies to this great purpose without wasting time. A large number of mills factories and industries should be set up where many of our unemployed youths will get the opportunity to work.

A great change should be brought in our education system. More importance should be given on professional, vocational and technical education. These will make an opening to work in different industrial sectors both home and aboard.

The educated youth should change their attitude to life. They must learn to choose the independent career. They can work agricultural field, cultivate fish, grow vegetables.

They can start a small business. In fact, self-employment is a possible solution to this problem.  Steps should be taken to set up co-operated farming, cottage industries and to open new system of public work in the rural areas to create a job for the rural people.

Unemployment is a great curse to a nation. We can not expect the development of our country leaving its millions of people unemployed to survive as a boastful nation. We should all-out efforts to get rid of this curse.
